- 4 cups sweet potatoes (mashed)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter (melted)
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (for topping)
- 1/4 cup flour (for topping)
- 1/4 cup butter (melted, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine the mashed sweet potatoes, 1/2 cup brown sugar, milk, melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
- Pour the sweet potato mixture into a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Mix together the chopped pecans, 1/2 cup brown sugar, flour, and melted butter in another bowl until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the topping evenly over the sweet potato mixture.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until the topping is golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Make the sweet potato base a day in advance and add the topping before baking. Can be made vegan by substituting eggs and butter.
