- 1 cup milk
- ¼ cup butter
- 1 onion, finely chopped

- Paprika for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Sauté onions and garlic in a large skillet with butter until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Prepare the cream mixture by combining heavy cream and milk, seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Layer half of the potatoes in a greased baking dish, followed by half of the ham and cheese. Repeat layers.
- Pour the cream mixture over the layers, ensuring even coverage.
- Bake covered for 45 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
- Add paprika before serving for garnish.
