Description

Soft, pillowy dinner rolls made without kneading, featuring a rich buttermilk flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) instant yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast in a large bowl until evenly combined.
  2. Pour in the buttermilk and melted butter, mixing gently with a rubber spatula until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and let it rise at room temperature for 12-18 hours.
  4. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare your baking dish by greasing it.
  5. Dust your work surface lightly with flour, then turn out the dough and shape it into approximately 12 rolls.
  6. Place the shaped rolls in the greased baking dish, cover with a kitchen towel, and let them rise for about 30 minutes.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before enjoying.

Notes

For richer flavor, consider adding herbs like rosemary or garlic powder. Serve warm for best taste.
