Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy—about 4-5 minutes.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well blended.
- Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low until just combined.
- Roll the dough into balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and coat with sugar.
- Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are firm and the centers are soft.
- Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
