Description

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Sugar for rolling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy—about 4-5 minutes.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well blended.
  4. Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low until just combined.
  6. Roll the dough into balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and coat with sugar.
  7. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each cookie.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are firm and the centers are soft.
  9. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
