Description

A simple and comforting recipe for homemade no-knead sandwich bread that transforms your kitchen into a warm haven.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 2 cups warm water

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and yeast. Stir with a wooden spoon until well mixed.
  2. Gradually pour in the warm water, mixing until you no longer see dry flour.
  3. Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and set it aside at room temperature for 12 to 18 hours.
  4. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and place your Dutch oven inside to heat up.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently shape it into a ball.
  6. Remove the hot Dutch oven from the oven, place the dough inside, cover with the lid, and return to the oven. Bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the lid and continue baking for an additional 15 to 20 minutes.
  8. Allow the loaf to cool on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

Enhance flavor with herbs or cheese. Store in a breathable bag for up to 3 days, or freeze for longer storage.
