Description

A comforting Ground Beef and Rice Casserole with savory layers of flavors, perfect for family dinners or weeknight meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup cheese (e.g., cheddar)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: green beans or mixed vegetables

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the ground beef and onion in a large skillet, set over medium heat, for about 5 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  3. Combine ingredients in a mixing bowl with rice, cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, cheese, and any optional vegetables.
  4. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  5. Transfer the mixture into a greased casserole dish.
  6. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  7. Uncover and return the casserole to the oven for another 10-15 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For a make-ahead option, prepare the casserole the night before and cover it well in the fridge. Adjust baking time if starting from cold.
