Description

A comforting dish featuring tender pasta enveloped in a rich, creamy sauce with smoky sausage and vibrant vegetables, perfectly spiced with Cajun seasoning.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz pasta (penne or fettuccine)
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta by bringing a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  2. Brown the sausage in a large skillet over medium heat with olive oil until golden brown and fragrant.
  3. Sauté the onion, garlic, and bell pepper in the skillet for about 5–7 minutes until softened.
  4. Create the sauce by stirring in the heavy cream, chicken broth, and Cajun seasoning. Allow it to simmer until thickened.
  5. Combine the cooked pasta with the sauce, tossing to coat thoroughly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

Feel free to substitute turkey or chicken sausage for a lighter option or use plant-based sausage for a vegetarian dish. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
