Description

Deliciously fluffy cottage cheese bagels topped with smoked salmon, fresh herbs, and creamy spreads, perfect for brunch or a light lunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cottage cheese
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup smoked salmon
  • Cream cheese or Greek yogurt (for spreading)
  • Fresh chives or dill (for garnish)
  • Capers (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Combine the cottage cheese, flour, baking powder, salt, and egg in a mixing bowl.
  3. Stir until a soft, slightly sticky dough forms.
  4. Divide the dough into eight equal portions and shape them into bagels.
  5. Place the formed bagels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Cool slightly before topping with cream cheese or yogurt, smoked salmon, herbs, and capers.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

These bagels are lower in carbohydrates compared to traditional bagels due to the cottage cheese. Prepare dough in advance and refrigerate overnight for fresh baking in the morning.
