- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- Combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a large bowl.
- Heat the milk and melted butter until warm, then add to the dry mixture with the egg.
- Stir until fully combined to form a soft dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes, then let it rise covered for 1 hour.
- Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
- Roll the dough into a rectangle, spread with softened butter, and sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Cut the dough into strips, twist them together, and place on a lined baking sheet.
- Let them rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix powdered sugar with milk for the glaze and drizzle over warm twists.
