Description

A layered dessert combining the comforting essence of cinnamon rolls with the vibrant sweetness of apples, creating a treat that captivates both young and old.


Ingredients

  • 2 packs of refrigerated cinnamon rolls
  • 4 cups of peeled and sliced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup of cream cheese
  • 1 cup of whipped cream or Cool Whip
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup of chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together the sliced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese along with the vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Unroll the cinnamon rolls, and spread a layer at the bottom of a greased baking dish.
  5. Layer half of the spiced apple mixture on top of the cinnamon rolls.
  6. Spread half of the cream cheese mixture over the apple layer.
  7. Repeat the layers with the remaining cinnamon rolls, apples, and cream cheese mixture.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving. Optionally, top with chopped nuts.

Notes

Make-ahead tips: Prepare your apple mixture the day before and refrigerate. For a different twist, consider using Greek yogurt instead of cream cheese.
