Description

A rich and hearty lasagna filled with layers of creamy cheeses, flavorful meat, and aromatic marinara sauce, perfect for holiday gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef or sausage
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for sautéing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat in a large skillet. Add the ground meat, browning it.
  4. Pour in the marinara sauce and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. Mix the ricotta cheese, egg, parsley, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl until fully combined.
  6. Spread a layer of the meat sauce at the bottom of your baking dish.
  7. Layer 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce, then top with half of the ricotta mixture and sprinkle with mozzarella.
  8. Repeat the layering process, finishing with a layer of meat sauce on top.
  9. Sprinkle grated Parmesan over the top layer.
  10. Cover tightly with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  11. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  12. Cool for about 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

You can assemble your lasagna a day ahead and refrigerate. Avoid over-saturating with sauce to prevent a sloppy outcome.
