- 1 cup sourdough starter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
- Mix the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the sourdough starter, flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
- Combine the wet ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together milk, vegetable oil, and eggs.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients: Gently pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and fold until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
- Fill the muffin cups, filling each about two-thirds full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Store leftover muffins in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. They can also be frozen for up to three months.
