Description

Delicious and fluffy donuts infused with apple cider and topped with a rich caramel glaze, perfect for autumn gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Caramel sauce for glazing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease each cavity of your donut pan thoroughly.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, prepare the wet mixture by whisking together the apple cider, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine both mixtures by pouring the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and folding gently with a spatula.
  5. Spoon or pipe the batter into the greased donut pan, filling each cavity about two-thirds full.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let the donuts rest in the pan for 5 minutes before flipping them onto a cooling rack.
  8. Glaze with warm caramel sauce and let it set before serving.

Notes

For a healthier version, try baking in an air fryer. These donuts can be stored in an airtight container for up to 5 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
