  • 28 ounces canned tomatoes (crushed or diced)
  • 1 cup dry red wine
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Parmesan cheese, for serving
  • Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Sauté the vegetables: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, carrot, and celery; sauté for 5-7 minutes.
  2. Cook the beef: Add ground beef; break apart and brown for 7-10 minutes until cooked through.
  3. Add the wine: Pour in red wine and simmer for a few minutes.
  4. Create the sauce: Stir in tomatoes and Italian seasoning; season with salt and pepper. Let simmer for 20-30 minutes.
  5. Cook the gnocchi: Prepare gnocchi according to package instructions in boiling salted water.
  6. Combine: Drain gnocchi and fold into the sauce.
