Description

Scalloped Potatoes with Cheese is a creamy and cheesy dish that is perfect for any occasion. This comforting side dish features layers of thinly sliced potatoes baked in a rich cheese sauce.


Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat and sauté garlic until fragrant.
  3. Add heavy cream and milk to the saucepan, stirring to combine.
  4. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika, then bring to a simmer.
  5. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes.
  6. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes and sprinkle with half of the cheese.
  7. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and cheese.
  8. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  10. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
