Description
A rich and creamy bisque combining tender shrimp and sweet corn, infused with Cajun spices—a taste of New Orleans at home.

- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup sweet corn, fresh or frozen
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups seafood stock or chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic. Sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the Cajun seasoning.
- Pour in the seafood stock and corn, bringing the mixture to a simmer.
- Add the shrimp and cook until they turn pink, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the heavy cream and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.
Notes
This bisque can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat gently on the stove. Customize with diced tomatoes or a splash of white wine if desired.
