Description

A rich and creamy bisque combining tender shrimp and sweet corn, infused with Cajun spices—a taste of New Orleans at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup sweet corn, fresh or frozen
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups seafood stock or chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic. Sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in the Cajun seasoning.
  4. Pour in the seafood stock and corn, bringing the mixture to a simmer.
  5. Add the shrimp and cook until they turn pink, about 5 minutes.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

This bisque can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat gently on the stove. Customize with diced tomatoes or a splash of white wine if desired.
