- 125 g melted butter

- 2 cups lukewarm milk
- ¼ cup icing sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 340°F (170°C) and line an 8-inch square pan with parchment paper.
- Whip the egg whites in a clean bowl until they form stiff peaks.
- Beat the yolks and sugar together until pale and fluffy.
- Incorporate the melted butter and vanilla extract into the yolk mixture.
- Sift the flour over the batter and stir it in carefully.
- Add the lukewarm milk, stirring until smooth.
- Fold in the whipped egg whites gently using a spatula.
- Bake for 35–60 minutes until golden. Check doneness with a toothpick.
- Cool the cake completely in the pan and dust with icing sugar before serving.
