Description

Ground Beef Gorditas are a delicious and easy-to-make Mexican dish that features soft corn tortillas filled with seasoned ground beef.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup masa harina
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (optional)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add salt, cumin, and chili powder to the beef and mix well. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, combine masa harina and warm water to form a dough.
  4. Divide the dough into small balls and flatten them into discs.
  5. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  6. Fry each disc for about 2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. Fill each gordita with the seasoned beef and cheese if desired.
  8. Serve warm with your favorite toppings.
