Description

A comforting and easy casserole combining meatballs, penne pasta, marinara, and melted cheese for a hearty family meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound frozen fully cooked meatballs
  • 2 cups uncooked penne pasta
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. Combine the frozen meatballs, uncooked penne, marinara sauce, water, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder in a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil.
  5. Bake for 35 minutes.
  6. Remove the foil, stir the mixture, then sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses on top.
  7. Return to the oven, uncovered, for an additional 10 minutes.
  8. Allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra nutrition, add vegetables like spinach or bell peppers. Can be made in an air fryer or slow cooker by adjusting cooking times.
