- 8 small flour tortillas
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
- 1 tsp taco seasoning
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
- Sour cream and salsa for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) or heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Season with taco seasoning, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
- Mix in the shredded cheese until melted slightly.
- Place a few tablespoons of the beef mixture onto each tortilla and roll tightly.
- Arrange the taquitos on a greased baking sheet, spray with cooking spray, and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Alternatively, fry in oil for 3-4 minutes per taquito until crispy.
- Serve hot with sour cream and salsa for dipping.
Notes
You can prepare the beef filling in advance and store it in the refrigerator for up to three days. For a crispy result without excess oil, try using an air fryer.
