Description

Succulent chicken breasts wrapped around savory ham and creamy Swiss cheese, baked to perfection for a comforting and indulgent meal.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 4 slices of ham
  • 4 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 1/2 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil or butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Pound the chicken breasts to about ¼ inch thick using a meat mallet.
  3. Lay a slice of ham followed by a slice of Swiss cheese on each chicken breast.
  4. Roll up each breast tightly and secure it with toothpicks.
  5. Dredge each chicken roll in flour, dip into the beaten eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs.
  6. Place the rolls in a baking dish and drizzle with olive oil or a dab of butter.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until cooked through and golden.
  8. In a small saucepan, combine cream and shredded Swiss cheese over low heat until melted.
  9. Serve the Chicken Blue Ribbon hot, drizzled with the creamy sauce.

Notes

You can prepare the chicken rolls up to 24 hours in advance. Optionally, use gluten-free breadcrumbs and flour for a gluten-free version.
