Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Create a well in the center and add warm milk, melted butter, and warm water.
  3. Add the egg and mix until incorporating.
  4. Knead the dough for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Let the dough rise in a warm spot for 1 hour, covered.
  6. Mix garlic, softened butter, and parsley for the filling while the dough rises.
  7. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a muffin tin.
  8. Roll the risen dough into a rectangle, spread the garlic butter, and sprinkle cheeses.
  9. Roll into a log, slice it, and place each slice in the muffin tin.
  10. Let rise for another 20 minutes.
  11. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  12. Cool slightly, then serve warm.

Notes

These cruffins are best served warm. Feel free to experiment with different cheeses or add ingredients to the filling.
