Description

Delightful toasted bread topped with a creamy layer of goat cheese, fresh strawberries, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 8 slices of baguette or rustic bread
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1.5 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and diced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil, finely sliced
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • 4 ounces fresh goat cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon additional honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Toast the bread on a baking sheet, brushing both sides with olive oil. Toast for 8-10 minutes until golden and crisp.
  3. Create the balsamic glaze by simmering balsamic vinegar and 1 teaspoon honey in a saucepan for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Mix diced strawberries with honey, basil, sea salt, and black pepper in a bowl.
  5. Assemble the toasts by spreading goat cheese on each slice and topping with the strawberry mixture.
  6. Finish with a drizzle of the balsamic glaze and serve immediately.
